Gymnastics on Horseback
A little about vaulting
VAULTING IS Gymnastics on horseback – found through cave drawings during the
Bronze age, and used as a training tool for refining equestrian skills during
Roman times. In 1978 the first international meets took
place. It is an old but fairly new horizon.
VAULTING Is for everyone no matter size, age, or shape. Along with excellent
exercise, it develops good balance and health. It promotes team spirit along
with respect and consideration for teammates, lunger, coaches and the horse.
It also encourages a sense of accomplishment through individual and team
improvements. And MOST of all it’s FUN..
VAULTING consists of 6 basic exercises
called COMPULSORIES they are the BASIC SEAT, FLAG, MILL, SCISSORS, STAND and
